Join Our Team as a Registered Psychologist
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Psychologist to join our team as a subcontractor. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality, evidence-based psychological care to patients, conducting assessments, and developing treatment plans tailored to individual needs. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations with a variety of presenting problems. The delivery of these services currently occurs virtually and in-person in Calgary. The Psychologist will also engage in research and data collection to enhance patient outcomes and contribute to the overall knowledge base of our practice. This role offers flexibility, autonomy, and opportunities to contribute to the growth and success of our practice while making a meaningful impact in patients’ lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct psychological assessments, including diagnostic evaluations, cognitive and behavioral assessments, and autism assessments.
- Provide individual, group, and family counselling using evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
- Develop and implement tailored treatment plans to meet clients’ unique needs and goals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.
- Participate in case consultations and team meetings.
- Contribute to the development of new services, workshops, or groups as the clinic expands.
- Provide supervision to provisional psychologists or counsellors (if applicable).
- Engage in research activities to contribute to the field of psychology and improve therapeutic practices.
- Collect and analyze data related to patient care and treatment efficacy.
- Stay current with developments in psychology, special education, and relevant medical terminology.
Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in Psychology from an accredited program.
- Registered with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP) as a Psychologist in good standing.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a similar role (preferred but not required).
- Experience working with diverse populations, including children, adults, families, and BIPOC or LGBTQ+ clients.
- Proficiency in evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, or ACT.
- Strong ethical standards and adherence to confidentiality regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Skills
- Strong patient care skills with an emphasis on empathy and understanding.
- Proficiency in medical terminology relevant to psychological practice.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Experience with trauma-informed care, concurrent disorders, or addiction treatment.
- Training or certification in neurofeedback or other specialized therapies.
- Interest in program development and training opportunities.
- Strong organizational skills for managing patient records and treatment plans.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Self-motivated, independent, responsible and has impeccable time-management skills.
- Available to respond to emails and communications in a VERY timely manner.
