What Marggie Works With
Marggie holds 3 primary specialties. Her coaching certification and her EMDR work run through all three.
Mental Performance for Athletes
Mental performance work targets performance anxiety, focus, and confidence under competition pressure.
Marggie holds NCCP certification through the Canadian Sport Institute, so the coaching context is first-hand. She also runs 2 workshops for athletes, teams, and sport parents.
PTSD and EMDR
Trauma work covers PTSD and the aftermath of violence.
Marggie provides EMDR by secure video across Alberta. Treatment also draws on CBT, DBT skills, and trauma-informed care.
Couples and Family Support
Couples work uses the Gottman Method, which Marggie trained in at Level 1.
Family sessions cover parenting strategies, behaviour concerns, and attachment. She also provides infertility counselling and support for women in transition.
Marggie also provides anxiety therapy, depression therapy, bipolar I and II counselling, and youth counselling. She supports chronic illness and pain. She delivers 2 REVIVE programs, Executive Reset and Competitive Edge.

What EMDR Therapy Involves
EMDR follows 8 standard phases, and Marggie works through each of them with you.
- History and treatment planning. Marggie maps the memories and triggers the work targets.
- Preparation. You build grounding and self-soothing skills before any memory work starts.
- Assessment. You and Marggie identify the image, belief, and body sensation attached to a memory.
- Desensitization. Guided eye movements run while you hold the memory, until its charge drops.
- Installation. A new, more accurate belief replaces the old one attached to that memory.
- Body scan. You check for physical tension still linked to the memory.
- Closure. Every session ends with you settled, whether or not the memory finished processing.
- Re-evaluation. The next session checks what held, and what needs more work.
Marggie delivers EMDR by secure video only, using the same 8-phase protocol.

How I Work
We choose the methods that fit your goals, then keep checking that the work is useful outside the therapy room.
EMDR (virtual only)
Guided eye movements reduce the charge a traumatic memory still carries.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT identifies the thought behind a reaction, then tests it against evidence.
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills
Skills for hard moments, including intense emotion, distress tolerance, and impulse control.
Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Level 1)
Structured couples work on conflict patterns, friendship, and shared meaning.
Motivational Interviewing (MI)
You work through mixed feelings about change at your own pace.
Trauma-informed care
You control the pace, the topics, and the point at which a session stops.
Confidential. Compassionate. Evidence-informed.
